04/22/2011 White Ornate laid 14 eggs today.
Audrey Vanderlinden pioneered the white blood line and when she retired in 2009
I purchased her last best pair of unrelated white bloodline Ornates.
White Ornate Male was born white and as he grew he became not totally white and has pigment,
but no black or brown outlines. He is screaming neon lavender and turquoise where normally
black and brown would appear.
White Ornate female.

04/19/2011 My white Ornate laid an infertile yellow egg today.
In the past one of my female Ornates laid an infertile egg and laid 8 fertile ones a few weeks later.
So I am still hopeful that the white female ornate will lay some fertile eggs soon.

Female Ornate with no color or pattern.
Here is a picture of a Farmed raised Ornate Uromastyx Female that I purchased in 2010. She was pretty rough looking when I got her.
10/10/2010 88 Grams.
Here she is now 01/22/2011 126 Grams.
She looks much better, she has gained 38 grams since October.
She has no color or pattern like a regular Ornate female.
I plan on breeding her with my white ornate male in a year or two and hopefully she will produce some wild babies.

According to Thomas Wilms hardwickii, loricata and asmussi
are no longer Uromastyx they belong to the genus Saara.
http://www.cites.org/eng/cop/15/prop/E-15-Prop-10.pdf
Subsequent to the Animal Committees meeting
in 2009, a new review of the taxonomy of the genus Uromastyx was
published by Wilms et. al (2009)3. The authors of this paper used modern
morphological, genetic and statistical studies to establish
the most correct taxonomy for this group (see Table 1 on the next page of this document). Wilms et. al
(2009) listed 13 species in the genus Uromastyx (including U. yemenensis)
and moved 3 species from Uromastyx to the genus Saara (which is
not currently in the CITES Checklist). They removed one species (U.
leptieni) from the list entirely and designated it as a synonym of Uromastyx aegyptia.

if they cannot see us then we do not exist. Kind of like the cat trying to be sneaky

cat. Two more, this time babies, these

Uromastyx in Daytona 2006. Yes, that special one came home with me,
a little Ornate beauty. Great temperament and does love those
hibiscus flowers. For whatever reason, my new little Uro
loves to sleep upright against the corner of its cage. I am guessing it sleeps
this way right after eating as every time I pick it up from this position its belly is
really full. It looks uncomfortable with its tail all pushed up into the spine, but it does not seem
to be a bother for it. I told this one she would be wearing her
food if she gave me any attitude, so to get back at me she went ahead and
made a new hat. 09/12/2009 Troy Jones I added so updated pictures of

Weight watchers is calling. Apprehension is the rule with
this one. Unhappy lizard goes to the vet.
Although not visible in the x-ray, the vet indicated massive
of cancer after the necropsy. Free lizard! Someone found this
guy cruising around Irvine (knowing he didn't belong outside in CA)
and turned him in to my vet as a stray. Don't know how long he was out there but
he's full of personality and definitely a wild one. Lucky a bird didn't get him, the only thing he could possibly camouflage
is my Dainese riding jacket. Uromastyx geryi Graduation lizards! (thanks

from my Ornate pair- TankaTo and Mipaya. Mipaya is a rather plain female with
hints of blue, and TankaTo is one of my favorite males. I love his deep
turquoise color mixed with a dusting of rust across his back. He has matured and
colored up so much since this picture was taken last year, but I just didn't
have a chance to get a better one this year. Needless to say, I am a little busy
with babies! In the midst of these guys hatching, I managed to acquire a
beautiful pair of philbyi from Lindsay, and a gorgeous Macfadyeni male to go
with my two females. great after a 6-8 gram loss but is now close to her arrival weight and is

leveled off so I suspect he will be gaining it back soon. He was 106 on arrival and is presently 82 grams. ![]()

I use heat tape to continue heating to maintain Temp to
about 33~35*C
About humidity , out side the eggs container the water
is filled so it's humidity is very high.
But in the container the humidity is very low , the
weight of substrate : water about 5:1
almost dry, I also put the mix in the button and a
little dry substrate on it
But in the late phase, especially when babies is coming
out, I will add humidity or put some well moistened paper towel with the eggs.
